Eric McIntire is the driving force behind LHL (Labor Helping Labor), an organization dedicated to providing peer recovery support services for individuals battling substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. As a New York local union member and someone in long-term recovery, Eric brings both professional expertise and personal experience to his leadership role.
Under his guidance, LHL offers a comprehensive range of services, including crisis intervention, treatment referrals, community resource connections, and post-treatment follow-ups. Eric is passionate about the power of peer support, recognizing the unique trust and understanding that comes from shared experiences. He believes that this connection not only empowers individuals in their recovery journey but also enhances engagement with critical support services.
Eric’s approach is grounded in evidence: peer support has been shown to reduce hospitalizations, shorten inpatient stays, and lower healthcare costs. Guided by the philosophy “We care because we have been there,” Eric is committed to helping others navigate their path to recovery with dignity and hope.
